Lake Swimming

Yesterday I swam in Lake Washington for just the third time this year. I need to do more of this. The experience itself was amazing. It was a warm, blue sky day in Seattle and the water temperature was perfect – warm enough to be comfortable, but cool enough to provide vitality to my body. The swim itself was fun, and challenging. There were very few people on the lake (it was 10:30 am on a Tuesday). Post-swim, I had hours of productive energy. As we all now, the mind loves to create excuses to avoid starting exercise, but once started it feels great and the all-day benefits are real.

I am committed to more swimming this summer, and buying a wetsuit to extend my lake swimming into September and October.
